    SWAN model

    Dear all,
I am new to this group. I would like to know if there is somebody working in SWAN (Simulating Waves Nearshore) Ocean model in this group.
    Warm Regards,

    Hi,
    Thank you Rajesh.
I am doing the work of customization of SWAN for Bombay_High region.I have worked with SWAN40.31. Now started working with SWAN40.41. Which version of the model are you working with and what are you working on?

    Join the SWAN forum

    Hi,
I am using REGULAR grid for my work.Don't have any experience with curvilinear grid.I think there are not many people working with SWAN in this forum. Are you aware of a forum for discussion exclusively on SWAN model, which is hosted by Delft university of Technology?

Post your question with all details there and you may get reply from someone.

    Best wishes,

    Thanks Sandhya K G !

You can to visit Alex'site, he has matlab tool to creat input files for swan model. I don't know any about matlab. I'm learning about it, If you have matlab code to plot output file of swan, You give it for me, please.

    SURFER tool

    Hello,
    Thank you for the link.
I use SURFER for plotting the output of SWAN.It is WINDOWS based software & easy to learn & use.
I will look into the matlab tool in the Alex'site & try to write some code for plotting. But since I am not proficient in MATLAB, it may take time.If I am able to do it, I will for sure post it here.
Actually GMT is the best tool to plot SWAN results. But I can't help you in giving a code in that also, as I don't have a ready made one.
Probably you will get something on this from the archived letters in the SWAN forum in the link given by me.

    Dear Sir!

I running swan with output file ( CBO) from wam model, When I run swan model, the program show error:
Warning: no grid points on interval from 100.0000 5.0000 to 100.2500 5.0000

I don'n undertand this errors, can you help me,please.

    Post it in SWAN forum!

    Hello Tuan,
I feel that the problem is because the grid points of SWAN and WAM do not coincide. When you couple WAM and SWAN, there are 2 restrictions.
    1) The grid resolution(spatial) of WAM should be at the most 3*(SWAN resolution)
    2) The grid points of SWAN should lie on the grid points of WAM
Please refer the manual for more details.
You may chech carefully whether your grids of WAM and SWAN satisfy these conditions.
Why don't you post it in the SWAN forum and get more replies? I don't think there are many who work with these models in this forum.
    regards,
    Sandhya.
