Ocean Observation System is celebrating the 20 years of observing the Indian Seas. Since its inception in the year 1997, the moored buoy network is providing crucial information for understanding ocean dynamics, weather prediction, climate studies, oceanographic services etc. The Indian Moored Buoy Data is widely utilized by scientists and students for carrying out the research and brought out many significant findings. To commemorate two decades of Ocean Observation Systems, erstwhile National Data Buoy Programme and to celebrate 20 years of service in the field of Ocean Observations, a workshop is scheduled to be held on Saturday, the 22nd April 2017 at NIOT Campus. As part of the celebration an exclusive session for students is planned. It aims to bring the budding researchers together for presenting their ideas and findings utilizing Indian moored buoy observations.
