A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Physical and Environmental
Sciences, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMUCC). The successful candidate
will work on various problems related to the improvement of the NCEP Climate Forecast
System (CFS). In particular, a better representation of upper ocean mixing and air-sea
fluxes in CFS will be explored. A qualified applicant is anticipated to have experience in
numerical modeling and knowledge of physical parameterization of upper ocean mixing
processes. Strong skills in integrating global and regional coupled models and a
knowledge of tropical climate variability such as the Madden-Julian Oscillation are
further advantages. A PhD in physical oceanography, or other related field is required at
the time of the appointment.

TAMUCC offers a comprehensive benefits package. The position is available
immediately and the initial appointment will be one year with an excellent possibility of
extension depending on demonstrated progress. Applications will be accepted until the
position is filled. For more information, contact Dr. Toshi Shinoda
(toshiaki.shinoda@tamucc.edu). To apply, email (toshiaki.shinoda@tamucc.edu) a CV,
statement of research interest, and names and addresses (with e-mail addresses) of at least
three references.

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is a rapidly growing research university, located
on the beautiful coast of the Gulf of Mexico.
