How to plot scatter plot with colorbar in MATLAB?

Hi,

I have a X and Y as my datasets of same dimension. Now I wanted to know how I can obtain the colorbar indicating the number of occurrences in the scatter plot between X and Y data? The points in the scatter plot shall be colored based on the number of times it occurred.

Can anyone help me how I can obtain this colorbar with points coloured basing on the number of times it occurred in MATLAB with any simple example script?

We have something similar, which color the scatter according to the value in the scattered position. Please try the program http://www.cawcr.gov.au/staff/prasanth/marker_plot.m .
