    Welcome to Oceanographers RuNet

    Respected Russian and International Oceanographers,

Here we are unfolding Oceanographers RuNet, forum in Russian
language as per the proposal by our active Oceanographer: koldunovn.
This is on the vision that providing a section in native language
will be useful for the russian community and the oceanographic society
    in large.

Please talk about Oceanography in your own language and in between,
try to enrich the rest of us in english.
If there is general information which is useful for everyone,
please share it in the other forums too
koldunovn will be moderating Oceanographers RuNet from here on.
He is currently the webmaster of the www.oceanography.narod.ru,
the website of the Department of Oceanography, Saint Petersburg University,
    Russia

We have also added a Russian interface to some of the menu options.
This you can select by going to User CP -> Edit Options and at the
last you can view the Language Settings. Select Russian as your
    language.

As a personal note, being in Japan, I can understand how difficult
it is for many Japanese people to look at english with confidence and
use it. Usually in such cases, multi lingual or flexible forums are
solutions on interactive websites like this.

    For the Oceanographic Society,
    Oceanographers Net Team

    Russian is easy

The most interesting discussion now is about .bln files for Surfer. Now we find some files for the world, and program for cutting this files (thanks to Galina). RUS gave us a link to the site were one can take coastlines and provide program which convert this files from lat/lon format to the .bln files. I find .bln files for the Arctic.

Mihail – ask some historical questions about Russian famous ship “Cheluskin”.

In Thread «Конференции» - information about conferences.

    In thread «Новости» - news.

    Very simple Russian it’s easy!

Thank you, koldunovn for the information.

Shall I ask you (or anyone who can do it) a favor:

Once in 2 weeks or so, will you post helpful notes from RuNet,
in other forums, in english? Like the topic :

which you can summarise and put on the Oceanographic Applications & Data Analysis.

Also, if there are conferences and news useful for all of us,
someone should post in the english categories too!

Maybe you can assign this job to someone as well. Cheers,

    Great
Meanwhile, what is Cheluskin famous for?
Is it a former defense vessel or research vessel?

    http://www.zoohall.com.ua/findex.php...ovrem/ch/3.htm.
