WALK-IN-INTERVIEW

Under the Sustainable Indian Ocean Biogeochemical and Ecological Research (SIBER)
and Marine Living Resources (MLR) programs of Centre for Marine Living Resources
and Ecology (CMLRE), Cochin, the following JRF positions are to be filled up based on
Walk-in lnte~iew to be held on 4th August 201 1 at 10 AM at CMLRE, Cochin.

1. Junior Research Fellow (3 nos.) - (Rs.12,000 - 14,000 + HRA):
Essential qualifications - First class M.Sc in Chemical ~ceanography/Analytical
Chemistry /~ydrochemistry/~nvironmental Science or equivalent from any
recognized university.
Desirable - Knowledge on biogeochemical processes in the coastal and deep-sea
regions and sophisticated analytical instruments like HPLC, TOC analyser,
Elemental analyser, Gas Chromatograph, etc.

2. Junior Research Fellow (5 nos.) - (Rs.12,000 - 14,000 + HRA):
Essential qualifications - First class M.Sc in Marine Biology/Zoology/Environmental
science or equivalent from any recognized university.
Desirable - Knowledge on phytoplankton and zooplankton identification,
biogeochemical processes, food-web dynamics, etc.

3. Junior Research Fellow (1 no.) - (Rs.12,000 - 14,000 + HRA):
Essential qualifications - First class M.Sc in MicrobiologylMarine BiologylZoology/
Environmental Science or equivalent from any recognized university.
Desirable - Knowledge on Bacterial identification, their metabolism, culturing, foodweb
dynamics, biogeochemical processes, etc.

4. Junior Research Fellow (2 no.) - (Rs.12,000 - 14,000 + HRA):
Essential qualifications - First class M.Sc in FisherylBiotechnology/Marine Biology1
Zoology or equivalent from any recognized university.
Desirable - Knowledge on marine fishes taxonomy, identification, their dynamics,
marine Biotechnology, etc.

The number of posts against each category are tentative and may change depending
upon the availability/selection of suitable candidates. Age of the candidate should not
exceed 28 years as on 1" July 2011. Statutory age relaxation of 3-5 yrs to
OBC/SC/ST, Physically Handicapped and female candidates are applicable.
Selected candidates should have to undertake field works onboard country boats
and/or sea going research vessels, and laboratory analysis, and assist Scientists in
the research work. They must register for Ph.D and will be permitted to use the
project work for pursuing the same. Eligible candidates should submit their Bio-Data

2nd August 201 1 and appear for a walk-in interview to be held at CMLRE, Cochin on
4th August 2011. Candidates must report and get themselves registered for the
interview between 9.30AM and 10.30AM. Reporting after the stipulated time will not
be entertained. All original documents in support of the essential qualifications along
with their self-attested copies and two pass port size photographs should be
produced at the time of interview. No TA/DA will be paid to candidates appearing for
interview. All the above posts are purely on temporary basis/project mode initially up
