How to extract all data points enclosed in an irregular geo-location boundary matrix?

    Hi,

Recently, I am using MOD06_L2 (MODIS Cloud Products). I would like to know:

    (1) if it is possible to define a geo-location (latitude, longitude) boundary matrix of irregular shape (e.g., boundary of any country or state) to obtain all the enclosed dataset indices. If so, can anyone give an example of implementing the same using MATLAB.

    (2) if two geo-location (latitude, longitude) points are available, which is the accurate and exact method to find the distance between the two points in terms of Kilometers?

    Can anyone address these issues?

    Thanking you,
    Madhavan
