    RAMA.. will solve your problem

    Dear friend

You can get insitu data for currents in Indian Ocean from RAMA BUOYS..
But, this data is specific to equatorial currents and some buoys are available upto 15oN.

So you can download the data at high or lower resolution (time series) and validate your model.

I am giving website url.. please check it once.

    http://www.pmel.noaa.gov/tao/data_deliv/deliv.html

Please ackowledge the contribution of RAMA data in your research work.

    regards
    Arun.

RAMA is only for EC .. coastal currents.. ?

    Dear Remya..

Sorry for the reply. If you want only the boudary currents i.e. near to the coast. You can try these ways.

    1. You can write to NIO, Goa for past currents data - they can provide you
    2. Or you can also write to IISc Banglore.

    or
surface currents can be obtained from Altimeter data.. you can try and validate your results. But for this you have to be very careful while retrieving the data near the coast.

    regards
    Arun
