hey,

i guess u want to plot a data set having height or depth information along with spatial (i.e. lattitude/longitude) coordinates. if this is the case u can use surfer which is very helpful and easy to use software for this kind of plotting.

Surfer 9 or grapher 8 would be a nice tool. If u are looking at GIS tools...arcgis would be good.
