The Air Quality Research Group at Portland State University is now
considering applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position
in the general areas of urban climate and air quality. The position is
part of an NSF funded project being conducted jointly by Portland State
University, San Jose State University, and the University of Delaware.
The overall goals of the project are to develop an improved
understanding of the complex interactions among the urban climate, air
quality, and adaptive/reactive human response. Modeling and
observations will focus on the two test bed cities of Portland Oregon and Houston
Texas.

This project involves the integrated use of energy models, mesoscale
meteorological models (MM5), emissions & air quality models (CAMx),
observation networks, and human surveys. We therefore seek applicants
with a strong background in either meteorological modeling or urban
photochemistry, who also possess a strong interest and aptitude for
working in a highly interdisciplinary environment.

To apply, please send a pdf of your CV, including contact information
for three references to sailor@cecs.pdx.edu. The position is open
effective spring/summer 2005 and is renewable annually for up to three
years. For additional information see www.fuse.pdx.edu.

Application review will begin immediately and continue until the
position is filled. Non U.S. residents must state their visa status.
