YALE UNIVERSITY:
PhD Opportunities in Ocean, Atmosphere and Climate dynamics / Geophysics
Several fully funded PhD positions in Ocean, Atmosphere and Climate Dynamics (OACD) are available at Yale University, Department of Geology and Geophysics. Students with backgrounds in Physics, Math, Atmospheric Sciences, Mechanical and Environmental Engineering, or Geosciences are welcome to apply. The faculty affiliated with OACD conducts research on various topics ranging from El Nino modeling to the role of clouds in climate, to the ocean response to global warming. Courses are offered in physical oceanography, meteorology, climate dynamics, geophysical fluid dynamics, remote sensing, numerical methods, paleoceanography, ice physics and many others. Students have a wide flexibility in designing a curriculum to suit their particular field of study.
Those interested in this program should apply by January 2. If accepted, and showing satisfactory progress, students are guaranteed funding for up to five years.
