Ocean General Circulation Modeling

We invite applications for a post-doctoral position involving ocean
general circulation modeling and numerical methods. Areas of
particular interest include development of eddy-resolving climate
simulations, development and implementation of new vertical
coordinates and algorithms, and the general improvement of ocean
models for climate scale applications. The work will involve using
three different general circulation models in use at GFDL/NOAA
(MOM4, HIM and MITgcm); familiarity with one or more of these
models will be advantageous. The successful candidate will join a
vigorous research environment and will be able to take advantage of
a wide range of ongoing climate related activities both at
Princeton and at GFDL/NOAA.

The successful applicant will join the ocean modeling group (http://www.gfdl.noaa.gov/research/ocean/) to work with Alistair Adcroft in the AOS Program (http://www.aos.princeton.edu/PostDoc.html) and with Robert Hallberg and Stephen Griffies at GFDL/NOAA.
Applicants are asked to send a curriculum vitae, a statement of research
experience and interests, and arrange for three letters of
recommendation to be sent directly to Laura Rossi
(lrossi@princeton.edu), Princeton University, AOS Program, Sayre
Hall, 300 Forrestal Road P.O. Box CN710, Princeton, NJ 08544-0710,
USA. We will begin reviewing applications on November 4th, and
continue until the position is filled. Princeton University is an
Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer. For general
information about applying to Princeton University and how to self- identify,
please see http://web.princeton.edu/sites/dof/ApplicantsInfo.htm
