Postdoctoral Scholar Position in Atmosphere/Climate Dynamics
A postdoctoral research position in atmosphere/climate dynamics is available at the California Institute of Technology. Research can be supported on a range of topics, particularly on those aspects of atmosphere dynamics that are relevant for understanding climate changes on timescales of decades or longer. Possible topics include but are not limited to: Hadley cell dynamics; tropical-extratropical interactions; turbulent transport and mixing in the troposphere; storm track dynamics; dynamics and kinematics of the atmospheric hydrological cycle.
The position is for two years, contingent on progress in the first year. The candidate should have a recent PhD in the atmospheric or oceanic sciences, fluid dynamics, or a related field. Experience with numerical models of fluid flows is desirable. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled. Please forward a curriculum vitae, a short statement of research interests, and the names and email addresses of three referees to
