Faculty Appointment in Physical Oceanography
The UCLA Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences seeks applications for a full-time faculty appointment in Physical Oceanography at any level of seniority. The salary will be commensurate with education and experience. Information about the Department, including the breadth and depth of its faculty and its curriculum and research enterprises, may be found at the Department web site, http://www.atmos.ucla.edu/.
Candidates should have broad research and teaching interests in oceanic processes. Relevant research methodologies include field measurements, observational analyses, theory, and modeling. Candidates are especially welcome whose research interests are synergistic with the Department's existing strengths in coastal and large-scale oceanic modeling, oceanic carbon and nutrient cycles, and theory and modeling of atmosphere-ocean and ocean-sea ice interactions. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. and are expected to have had postdoctoral experience at the time of appointment.
Applications should include a curriculum vitae, publication list, short statement of teaching and research interests, and three or more names of individuals familiar with the applicant's work who could be contacted for letters of reference.
