M.S and Ph.D. studentship opportunities in Marine Science program at
the Department of Geological Sciences, University of South Carolina,
Columbia, SC 29208.
The Marine Science program at the University of South Carolina
invites applications for one Masters in Marine Science and one Ph.D
in Marine Science (Physical Oceanography/Satellite Oceanography/Ocean
modeling). The successful student will join in the Satellite
Oceanography group lead by Dr. Subrahmanyam Bulusu. Students must
have undergraduate degree in oceanography/marine science/physics/
mathematics/computer science. Some experience in programming (Matlab,
IDL, Fortran etc) as well as solid knowledge of English language as
expected. The research will be supported by the department, and the
candidates will be appointed as Instructional Assistant (or teaching
assistant). The initial appointment will be two years starting in
Fall 2006, with the possibility of extension depending on performance
and future funding availability.
