Research Scientist in Ice Sheet Modeling

The Institute for Geophysics at The University of Texas at Austin
(UTIG) seeks candidates for a position on the staff at UTIG in ice sheet
modeling. We are recruiting an entry/mid-level Geoscientist with a
research focus on numerical modeling of ice sheets in response to global
climate change. A capacity to utilize inverse methods to capitalize on
over-ice geophysical data and the ability to study the global impact of
sub-ice processes are strongly desired. An emphasis on the decay of the
Antarctic or Greenland ice sheet is preferred. Other possible areas of
research include climate, oceanic and lithospheric interactions with these
ice sheets as well as the evolution of the subglacial hydrosphere and ice
shelves. UTIG's webpage (<http://www.ig.utexas.edu/>www.ig.utexas.edu)
describes current research activities. UTIG is a member of the newly
formed Jackson School of Geosciences.

Candidates at all hiring levels may apply, but we especially
encourage scientists who have obtained their Ph.D. within the last 5 years
and have 1-2 years of postdoctoral experience. Position provides six
months of long-term salary support. Applicants are expected to have both a
strong publication record and a funding history that demonstrates the
ability to conduct research projects successfully.

We will begin considering applicants immediately and will continue
until position is filled. Send a CV, statement of research interests,
summary of past and present financial support, and a list of 3 references to:
