hello all,
i want some SOI data in ascii format. in the website there are different sets with different methodologies. can anybody tell me which would prove reliable for some analysis.
thanks,

i havent used the soi data so far, but came across the
NASA website which provides validated data and several references.
it would be useful to read through and check the data.. and more useful
would be the references.
They have given detailed description of the data.

Hi,

You can get SOI data from NOAA website. Or you can compute your own index from Hadley centre MSLP data..

dear madhuchetta,
but there are differences in the approach to calculate that index. wmo recommend one, aussies met office tell another and ...
that was the problem. however i will calculate it if get a standard form of the calculation. IISC might have a reliable one.
