An outlook into Indias newly thriving Biological firms and Life sciences.
The suppliment is mainly based on Life Sicences Institutes,
the Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Tata Institute
of Fundamental Research (TIFR), National Center for Biological Science
(NCBS) also the India's Supreme Insitute for Science- Indian Institute
of Science (IISc). Several other Institutes (IITs), mostly in Life Science
field is featured in this speciall issue. The Bilogical Boom and Indias
new scope on Biotechonology is covered.
The over all budget of key funding agencies in India including
CSIR, Department of Biotechnology and Indian Council of Medical
Research increased their funding in recent five years with dramatic
hike. The CSIR promoted its funding from US$ million 200 to 350
in last five years (75% increase).
Statistical Tables, shows the potential productiveness of these
Institutes in terms of Publications appeared in the International
Scientific Journals and patents and also rates India's place among
worlds other developed/developing countries.
