Hi rajesh, CUSAT used to conduct frequent cruises from kerala coast
to the lakshadweep islands as part of the ARMEX program.
They are mostly XBT observations though.
NIO Goa and NIO Kochi also do observations along the region though
rarely. There were ARMEX cruises with CTD observations during 2002-'03.
So it is a rare chance that there are any CTD data for the stated region
during the period of your interest.
Anyways, it is better if someone from CUSAT, NIO check the availability
or you can contact them as well.

Dear Rajesh,
It's difficult to get near coastal data over public domain. How ever you can contact organizations with in the country who does coastal oceanography. Here, in NIO goa, the Responsble Indian National Oceanographic Data centre do have cdroms of data set outside and within the EEZ of the country. It may be extremely difficult to get Jan-May 2005 dataset but you may be able to get some data if you see those CD's. You may contact head Data division, Mr.J.S.Sarupriya in this Email id sarujs@darya.nio.org
good luck
