Post-Doctoral Fellow, UHM Pacific Biosciences Research Center, (Manoa), temporary, non-tenure track, Kewalo Marine Laboratory, federal funds, to begin approximately 07/2005, renewal dependent upon availabiity of funds and satisfactory performance. Duties: Marine ecology, microbiology, and especially molecular approaches to invertebrate larval biology. Participation expected in a biofouling–testing program, including both field and laboratory studies. A study of role of marine biofilm bacteria in recruitment of macroinvertebrates and algae may develop into a personal research program. Will require flexible hours and be able to cooperate with a diverse group of researchers at Kewalo Marine Lab. Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. in biological sciences with an emphasis in invertebrate biology and/or marine microbiology. Research experience in both laboratory and field studies with an emphasis on experimental design, molecular methods and data analysis. Able to operate a personal computer.
