Duties: : The Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology (HIMB) seeks candidates for 1-year, 80% time non-tenure track Assistant Researcher position focused on connectivity and molecular genetics of corals throughout the Hawaiian Archipelago. Coral biologists who work on research questions focused on population genetic approaches to understanding connectivity for coral reef management are especially encouraged to apply. HIMB is a unit of the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology at the University of Hawaii and located on an island surrounded by coral reefs in Kaneohe Bay, Oahu. Minimum qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants with previous postdoctoral experience and a published record of success with developing and scoring microsatellite loci from scleractinian corals. Federal agency collaboration, and experience with management issues on coral reefs is also particularly desirable.
