Climate Modeller, Wellington, NZ
NIWA is a leading environmental research institute and the key provider of marine, freshwater, and atmospheric research in New Zealand.
We are seeking an enthusiastic scientist with experience in climate modelling and climate variability research to work at NIWA’s Greta Point campus in Wellington, New Zealand.
The successful appointee will have a research degree, preferably a PhD, and proven research capability. The person will be expected to have the ability to introduce new ideas, lead new research and to take up existing research and consulting services to which the group is already committed.
Key areas of research will be the use of global and regional climate modelling to understand observed climate variability and to develop scenarios for future climate change in the New Zealand region. The ability to interact with policy-makers and industry sectors to provide relevant research and advice on climate variability and change would be an advantage.
