The Director, NIO is interested in filling up the position of Project Assistants III under the Project GAP 1594 in the National Institute of Oceanography, Dona Paula, Goa, initially for a period of ONE YEAR. Candidates satisfying the following requirements may attend the walk-in-interview on April 18, 2005 along with their bio-data, attested copies of certificates in proof of qualification, age and testimonials.

PROJECT ASSISTANT III (1) (ONE Position) @ Rs. 5000/- p.m (consolidated)**
Essential Qualifications: M.Sc in Marine Sciences /Marine Biology/ Life Sciences/ Botany with a First class from a recognized University.
Desirable : . Proficiency in MS word, biological data analysis and graphics.
Job requirement : Selected candidate will have to carryout extensive field work on board research ship, collect and analyze biological and related hydrographic data and, assist processing project related data and preparation of reports.

PROJECT ASSISTANT III (1) (ONE Position) @ Rs. 5000/- pm (consolidated)**
Essential Qualifications: M.Sc in Physics /Electronics /Physical Oceanography /Meteorology/ Marine Science (specialisation in Physical Oceanography) from a recognized University with minimum 60% marks in the aggregate at the qualifying exam.
Desirable : Proficiency in writing codes with FOTRAN, Perl, Matlab, Ferret, GMT for data (Oceanographic and Meteorological) analysis and graphics
Job requirement : The Selected candidate will be required to maintain and manage project data base, undertake extensive field work on board research ship, carryout processing and analysis of hydrographic and satellite data and preparation of reports.
Age : Not exceeding 28 years as on April 18, 2005 relaxable by five years for SC/ST, and three years for OBC candidates.
(**Stipend and guidelines for PA are under revision and shall be applicable when it comes to force)
Over-qualified/under-qualified and over-aged candidates will not be allowed to attend the interview.
Registration time : From 9.15 AM to 10.00 AM on 18/4/2005. Candidates reporting after 10.00 AM will not be allowed to attend the interview.
The above positions are purely temporary. Candidates selected as Project Assistants shall not be treated as employees of NIO/CSIR and shall have no right implicit or explicit for their absorption in NIO/CSIR as regular employees.
