CSIRO Atmospheric Research conducts research into weather, climate and atmospheric pollution. The Division is headquartered in Aspendale VIC and has staff based in Canberra ACT.
The Climate and Modelling Program is seeking A Research Scientist to work as part of a team of scientists whose focus is on developing tools for weather and climate prediction.
You will collaborate with other team members in the development and maintenance of the climate system model used by CSIRO, including the implementation of improved model physics and numerics. A PhD in meteorology, climate science or a related field is essential as is a demonstrated ability in development or management of large-scale models of the atmosphere or coupled climate system. Demonstrated experience in computer programming (FORTRAN and Shell Programming) and computer graphics are essential.
