regrid command

hi all,
in regrid command in grads,
there are two files generated one is udf.regrid.dat
and the other is udf.regrid.out, I ask that,
what is the use of these two automatic generated files,
one is in binary and the other is in the ascii format.

you can fwrite the regridded data into a .grd (grads data file).
