Graduate Studies in Oceanography / Rutgers University. The Institute of Marine and Coastal Sciences (IMCS) at Rutgers University invites applications for graduate research assistantships in oceanography at the M.S. and Ph.D. level. We encourage applications from high-quality, motivated students interested in working on global problems related to the fields of biological, physical and chemical oceanography. Specifically, we encourage candidates with interests in multidisciplinary studies under the broad themes of ocean and climate modeling, molecular ecology, bio-physics and bio-optics, marine microbiology, biogeochemistry, coastal and estuarine processes, paleoceanography and climate change. Applicants are encouraged to visit our Web site (www.marine.rutgers.edu) to review a list of the faculty research interests. We intend to offer 6 fellowships for the academic year starting Fall 2008.
IMCS is located at New Brunswick, NJ and is about 40 min from NYC and 45 min from the coast. In addition to the high-quality research and analytical facility in the institute, we also maintain a coastal marine station with state of the art oceanographic research facilities (http://marine.rutgers.edu/mrs/LEO/LEO15.html).
Applications are due January 15, 2008. For more information and application materials please contact the Graduate Program in Oceanography, IMCS, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey 71 Dudley Rd.
