Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Coastal Processes -
University of Hawaii
Assistant/Associate/Professor/Researcher/Specialist The School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology (SOEST) invites applications for a newly appropriated tenure-track position in Coastal Processes. We seek an outstanding candidate with skills in coastal hydrodynamics, sediment transport, coastal morphodynamics, beach processes, and/or surf zone dynamics. The successful applicant will join the new Hawaii ocean observing system (HIOOS) currently being assembled with 6 new tenure-track positions that will form the basis for ground-breaking new research programs.
We seek a pioneering and enthusiastic scientist who will interact synergistically with SOEST faculty to form a dynamic team fulfillin/ the vision of ocean observing in Hawaii. Minimum qualifications: PhD or equivalent experience in a related scientific or engineering field; a prolific record of publication in international peer-reviewed scientific journals; recognized high potential in research funding; superior communication abilities; and the capacity to build a flourishing interdisciplinary research program in coastal ocean observing.
