Postdoctoral Fellowship for Regional Modeling of Eastern Pacific Climate at the International Pacific Research Center, University of Hawaii

The International Pacific Research Center (IPRC) of the University of Hawaii invites applications for a post-doctoral position. We are seeking candidates with interests in modeling atmospheric boundary layer processes (including low clouds) and the interaction with the ocean. The position will involve work aimed at improving the NOAA/NCEP climate forecast system as part of international program VOCALS (http://www.eol.ucar.edu/projects/vocals/). At the time of appointment, applicants must have a Ph.D. in atmospheric, oceanic sciences, or a related field. Appointment is initially for one year and renewable for another year, depending on performance and availability of funds. For questions, contact Dr. Yuqing Wang, telephone: (808) 956-5609; e-mail: yuqing@hawaii.edu, or Dr. Shang-Ping Xie, telephone: (808) 956-6758; email: xie@hawaii.edu.

To apply, send a statement of research interests, a curriculum vitae, and names and addresses (including telephone, fax, and e-mail address) of three persons willing to write letters of reference to yuqing@hawaii.edu. Review of applications will begin on September 15, 2007 but applications will continue to be accepted until the positions are filled. The positions may start immediately or on mutually agreeable dates.
