Contribution Request
On the 1st of January of 2005, we launched the website with an initial payment of 27$ (1188/- Rs) (Details are there in the Budget Report). We registered the domain and hosted the site in Standard plan (200MB web space and 2GB bandwidth). From contributions we could get about 2500Rs. The list is given in budget report. So the balance amount we have is 2900-1188= Rs. 1712/-.
As this one year term came to an end we renewed the contract with the hosting server for next two years (2006-2008). So for two years it will come about 56$ (Rs. 2597). As we already completed one year of contract, we have to take up this matter at most important.
As I am dealing with the financial matters of the site, I on behalf of all the moderators request you to take the necessary action and contribute some amount for our site. We are also looking forward for many more ideas to develop our site along with the contributions.

The main objective of our site is to help the upcoming oceanographic researchers and students to excel in their field of research and studies. For this purpose we are also planning for some kind of newsletter along with Annul Report (online and printed) from coming years. Also it is been in our notice that many of our members complain about the uploading limit of our website.
There are two solutions,
(1) Get a dedicated server in some university/institute where we can upload the files.
(2) Buy more space. (A 500mb package is 70$ and 1 GB package is 160$ annually).
So I request you to make suggestions as well as contributions keeping those new objectives in mind.
Contributions can be done like this,
One person in each lab will be assigned for this and he will be responsible for collecting money as well as suggestions from all the oceanographer cusat members.
After collecting money from all members of the respective institute, he/she can send a cheque of that amount to my address (given below) with only AMOUNT written (Please don’t write anything in the NAME column). You can call me in the following numbers to know the convenient method for both of us.Ph: +91-9846314883, from 5.30 pm to 8.00 am and 0484-2572616 in working hours.
My address is ‘Anand.P, Scientist, NPOL, Kochi, Kerala -682021, India’
One can also use DD for sending money.
Credit Card holders can pay through the Paypal "Donate" button in our site.

Kindly put a note along with DD/Cheque telling the names of the contributors and also suggestions from each member listed with name. We insist the assigned member to be strict in the case of suggestions for improving our site. Here is the list of some of the institutes where our members are working. Though we are assigning each member from each institute (mentioned in UserCP) in our site, any inconvenience in this listing can be sorted out with-in each institute.
