Hi,
I am Madhavan doing Ph.D in Physics on the topic Atmospheric aerosols and radiation at Andhra University, Viskhapatnam. I need the link to download the TOA solar flux data from ERBE of CERES sensor of TRMM satellite. Please do this small help urgently. Also need the link for Retrieving rainfall data from TRMM.
Please respond urgently,

Hi Madhav,
I was also looking for such a dataset and asked a question few
days before in this website. Hope we both could benifit from

Hi,
This was a question I posed in my earlier posting. I have found the link to retrieve the data but unable to get the data from the link. Can any one try this link and give the step wise procedure to see the data in ASCII format over a selected grid/region?
The link is:
http://eosweb.larc.nasa.gov/HORDERBIN/HTML_Start.cgi
Please do this small help who has experience in retrieving data from satellite link.
Bye.

Regarding retrieval of CERES data/ TOA fluxes:
Please visit the following site.
http://eosweb.larc.nasa.gov/PRODOCS/ceres/table_ceres.php
click "Documentation, Tools and Available Data Products"
Then "Gridded Single Satellite Fluxes and Clouds (FSW)"
Again select "Gridded Single Satellite Fluxes and Clouds (FSW)"
From here, you can get "Clear-sky and All-sky TOA Fluxes"
What you need is TOA clear-sky fluxes. Try to download the daily files.
It will be in hdf format. You can use grads to read it.

Hi Madhavan,
I apologize if I had gone through a wrong way.
I have visited the above website to retrieve Short wave radiation.
I click "Documentation, Tools and Available Data Products " link.
But there is no "Gridded Single Satellite Fluxes and Clouds (FSW)" available.
Instead I found "Gridded Radiative Fluxes and Clouds (FSW)" link.
I click it and reached a table. Then I click "CER_FSW_Terra-FM1-
MODIS_Edition2C." and reached a Java Applet page.
I choose Clear Sky SW-Flux from the window and chooce FTP button and
click Submit button. It ask me the login. I entered login name and password.
Then it reached a Data Disclaimer page with two buttons of "Agree" or
"Disagree". I click "Agree" buttton but nothing happened. Neither I got data
link nor a file downloaded.
Is it something wrong with my browser?
Please help me in this regard.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
The link for retrieving the CERES data may be changed. Because i am sure that i have tried with that link for getting the TOA solar fluxes. I am sorry for this but i will soon let you know the renewed link for CERES data retrieval.
Any one who is working on CERES data for retrieving the shortwave and TOA solar fluxes can guide me.
Bye,
