Dear Friends,
I hold a Master's degree in Environmental Science.I wish to pursue Higher studies in Earth Sciences.
Can anyone tell me how to download Fortran from the internet?
It would be of great help if, I am advised about the type of programme or version( Fortran 77, 90, 95 or LF 7.1) that i should use and the websites that offer the download.I have a P III,128MB RAM ,40GB HD with MS Windows 2000 OS.
Please note I am just a beginner!

Manu !!!

You can download the Linux version of Intel Fortran compiler from the URL link below:

http://www.intel.com/cd/software/products/asmo-na/eng/compilers/flin/219857.htm

The license file needs to be installed first before you go for installing the compiler.

Should I have Linux as the operating system in order to use the Intel Fortran compiler?Is this compatible for a MS Windows 2000 OS?Kindly advise me.

It is available for Linux. There has one evaluation version for windows

try above one for windows. But that must be a trial one with some trial period or may have some bug (I didn't checked / used it).

Getting any software package FREE for Windows is difficult. Switch to Linux as soon as possible. :thumbsup:
